At Amber's Artisanal Knits (AAK), we are committed to transparency and excellence in every aspect of our operation. Below you'll find detailed information about our product valuation methodology, processing and fulfillment timelines, shipping procedures, and associated rates. We believe that understanding these logistics is essential to providing you with the best possible experience when purchasing our handcrafted knitwear. This page offers a comprehensive overview of several important AAK subjects.
Table of Contents
1. Legend
• AAK: Amber's Artisanal Knits
• PVB: Product Valuation Breakdown
• AAP: AAK Asking Price
• CVR: Cost-to-Value Ratio
• ICVR: Inverse Cost-to-Value Ratio
• MTO: Made-to-Order
• NMTO: Not Made-to-Order
2. Product Valuation Breakdown (PVB)
• The PVB is a comprehensive, standardized (customer- and location-independent) assessment and ultimate determination of an individual product's monetary value.
• PVB varies with every unique product and takes into account the costs and values of the following sectors: materials, labor, manufacturing overhead, taxes, shipping, handling, carrier insurance, and applicable fees.
• We do our best to meticulously and accurately calculate the PVB for each product. This ensures fair pricing and transparency for all of our valued customers.
3. AAK Asking Price (AAP)
• The AAP is the listed price for a product on Amber's Artisanal Knits.
• AAP for a given item is a number calculated using a proprietary algorithm. It applies a variable reduction factor to a product's PVB to arrive at its final asking price.
• AAP includes, considers, and accounts for all PVB sectors.
• Unless under extenuating circumstances as deemed acceptable by AAK, all AAPs are non-negotiable.
4. Cost-to-Value Ratio (CVR)
• The CVR is a normalized percentage of a product's AAP divided by its PVB.
• CVR varies with every unique product and is meant to aid in visualizing the cost savings when comparing AAP to PVB.
• CVR should be interpreted as the percentage you are paying with respect to the full value of the product.
• For example, a CVR of 75% means you are paying 75% of the product's full value as determined by the PVB.
• At AAK, CVR will always be less than 100%.
5. Inverse Cost-to-Value Ratio (ICVR)
• The ICVR for a product is simply 1 minus its CVR, to be interpreted as the percentage saved from a product's full value.
• ICVR will be the primary metric displayed on product pages, checkout pages, and order confirmations to inform our customers of their savings.
• We are actively working to ensure that every product page, checkout page, and order confirmation includes a detailed PVB and ICVR.
6. Processing and Fulfillment
• In-Stock Items (MTO or NMTO):
Orders ship within 1–2 business days.

9. Returns and Exchanges
• IMPORTANT:
Return and exchange policies are subject to change! At this time, all custom and made-to-order items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. All custom and made-to-order items include free repairs for the first 10 years from the original sale date.
• Returns:
We do everything in our power to ensure you love your purchase! That said, NMTO returns based on customer preference are not permitted. We hope you can understand this difficult decision.
• Exchanges:
Unless under extenuating circumstances as deemed acceptable by AAK, exchanges are permitted at the customer's expense.
• Guidance:
Please consider your eligibility before submitting a return or exchange request. Returns and exchanges follow the same approval process.
• Extenuating Circumstances:
Due to the nature of our industry and production methodology, AAK accepts NMTO returns or exchanges only under extenuating circumstances. Our manual production techniques represent a significant labor investment. As such, customers are required to submit a request that will be reviewed and assessed by AAK on a case-by-case basis.
• Determinations:
Determinations made for a given request are independent of and do not affect any determinations made with respect to other return requests. Historical determinations do not guarantee future determinations. AAK reserves the right to reject a return request if it deems the circumstances insufficient.
• Appeals:
If you disagree with a determination, you may submit exactly one appeal for further review.
